Feral boars
in napa county
According to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, Feral Pigs are a nonnative, invasive species to California. They negatively effect the ecosystem around them with their ground uprooting and predatory habits.
Feral Pigs inhabit in 56 of California's 58 counties, including Napa County. Napa County hosts many of the habitats that Feral Pigs are found in such as woodland, grassland, and chaparral. They are a potential threat to crops and livestock as they are prone to destroying the roots of plants, as well as preying on small animals such as newborn calves and lambs. |
